Journal of Guangdong Medical University is a comprehensive medical and health sciences journal distributed both domestically and internationally. It is a bimonthly publication, founded in 1983 and officially launched for public circulation in 1991. Formerly known as Journal of Zhanjiang Medical College and Journal of Guangdong Medical College, it publishes academic articles across various columns, including expert commentaries, research on aging and diseases, basic medical sciences, and clinical medicine.Supported by Guangdong Medical University, the journal is dedicated to publishing academic articles related to medical sciences. It aims to reflect current research trends in the medical field, highlight achievements in medical research, and guide medical practice. With a strong emphasis on manuscript quality, it has consistently followed its publishing mission and steadily improved overall editorial standards. In recent years, its impact factor has ranked in the top one-third to one-quarter among medical university journals in China.The journal is indexed as a statistical source journal in the Chinese Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database(CAJCED) and as an RCCSE Chinese Academic Journal (Candidate Core Journal).It is fully indexed in the Chinese Core Journal Selection Database, the China Academic Journal Full-text Database (CJFD), and the Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CMCC).The journal was recognized as an Excellent Science and Technology Journal of Guangdong Province in the second, third, and fourth evaluation sessions, and as a Featured Science and Technology Journal in the sixth session.Its special column Aging Research won the First Prize for Outstanding Journal Works of Guangdong Province at the fourth evaluation session in 2015. In 2017, it received the title of Featured Science and Technology Journal of Guangdong Province. In 2021, it received the Award for Outstanding Editorial and Publishing Quality of Guangdong Science and Technology Journals. In 2024, it was awarded the title of Featured Science and Technology Journal and the Nomination Award for the Sixth Guangdong Excellent Journal Award.
